About the Truck Route Planner
TripCostCalc's free truck route planner gives haulage operators, owner-drivers and fleet managers an instant cost preview for any European route. Pick a vehicle class — from a 3.5 t van to a 40 t articulated HGV — and the calculator prefills realistic diesel consumption so fuel costs, country-by-country tolls and vignettes match what your truck will actually burn on the road.
Free truck route planner with tolls
Plan A-to-B or multi-stop truck routes and see a toll preview for every European country on the route — plus diesel cost based on your real consumption.
Vans, 7.5-tonners and 40 t HGVs
Pick from four classes with sensible defaults: 9 L/100 km for a loaded van, 22 L/100 km for a heavy rigid, 32 L/100 km for a 40 t articulated truck.
Diesel cost calculator across Europe
Daily-updated diesel prices per country, automatic currency conversion, and per-country fuel cost on cross-border runs — built for haulers and owner-drivers.
Compare fastest vs toll-free route

How it works
- 1
Pick your truck class
Tap one of the four cards — van, medium, heavy or 40 t articulated. We prefill a realistic diesel consumption figure for that vehicle.
- 2
Set the load level
Empty, half-loaded or fully loaded — load level shifts diesel consumption by roughly ±15%, which materially changes the fuel bill on a long run.
- 3
Enter origin and destination
Type the start city, destination, and any intermediate stops. The calculator handles multi-country, multi-stop routes.
- 4
Compare costs and choose
See fastest vs cheapest routes side by side — distance, time, diesel cost, per-country tolls, vignette fees and total cost for each option.
Truck route planner FAQ
Yes. Pick your truck class to prefill diesel consumption (a 40 t HGV typically burns 28–32 L/100 km fully loaded), enter origin, destination and any intermediate stops, and you'll get a per-country toll estimate plus diesel and vignette costs. Note that displayed toll rates are baseline per-kilometre rates for passenger cars; country-specific HGV multipliers and axle-based rates are on our roadmap.
A loaded 7.5-tonner typically burns 13–18 L/100 km depending on terrain, load, driving style and aerodynamics. We default to 14 L/100 km for half-loaded and 17 L/100 km for fully loaded. You can adjust the exact value after picking the preset.
Yes. Add as many intermediate stops as you need between origin and destination. The calculator splits distance, diesel and tolls per country across the entire multi-stop route — useful for delivery rounds, freight tours and round trips with several drop-off points.
Per-kilometre tolls are covered for France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Poland, Norway and others. Vignette prices and validity periods (sticker or e-vignette) are covered for all ten European vignette countries: Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, and North Macedonia.
Not yet. Route geometry currently uses standard car routing — we don't detect bridge heights, weight limits, urban HGV bans (Sunday driving bans in Austria/Germany/Italy/France/Switzerland, ULEZ truck restrictions, etc.). Dedicated HGV routing is on our roadmap. For now, use the result as a cost-planning preview and verify the geometry against your fleet's routing tool before dispatching.
Yes — free forever, no sign-up, no account, no data storage. You can use the truck route planner, toll calculator, fuel cost estimator and vignette price lookup without any limits. We don't save your origin, destination, or vehicle details.
